In a significant move for Western Australia’s construction sector, painting and plumbing apprenticeship specialist, NextGen Skills, will be merging with employment and training services experts Skill Hire (part of the IntoWork Group), to create WA’s leading apprentice, training and employment services company.
The move comes 12 months after NextGen Skills joined the IntoWork Group and was based on the positive feedback from its stakeholders who wanted a ‘one stop shop’ for all the services they are accessing from NextGen Skills and Skill Hire.
Ben Dahlstrom, CEO of Skill Hire, said the integration would deliver improved efficiency while maintaining continuity of service, “The integration combines more than 40 years of industry experience and expertise, with the same management team, trainers and support staff remaining in place, “Mr Dahlstrom said.
“This change is about reducing red tape and making processes simpler for tradespeople, employers and apprentices across Western Australia.”
The integration is part of a broader strategy by parent organisation IntoWork Group to strengthen its workforce solutions capability in Western Australia.
All existing apprentice placements and training programs will continue without disruption during the transition. Employers and apprentices will continue to work with the same teams they already know and trust.
The streamlined operations under the Skill Hire brand will focus on developing the skills needed by Western Australia’s construction industry, with no changes to service delivery or support during the transition period.
