Course Overview
The hospitality industry offers fantastic job and career opportunities — here, and all around the world. If you would like a taste of the kind of work you could do and gain some entry level skills to start your career, the skills and knowledge you gain through this Skill Set could set you up to start work in a restaurant, hotel, resort, club, winery, bar, or café — even on a cruise ship!
You’ll learn about the responsible service and supply of alcohol (and get your RSA), how to apply practices for hygiene and food safety in a commercial kitchen or food service business, prevent food contamination and identify and control, food hazards within a kitchen or small food premises.
This Skill Set consists of units from nationally recognised and accredited qualifications. Successful completion can provide credit, should you pursue further study in a related qualification.

Choose Skill Hire as your registered training organisation (accredited private training provider) funded through Jobs and Skills WA. Over 3 days, learn how to identify and control food hazards to comply with Australian & New Zealand Food Safety Practices and the skills and knowledge to sell and serve alcohol in a licensed premise. Essential to work handling food or serving alcoholic beverages.
