The Australian Government’s Youth Jobs PaTH Employability Skills Training (EST) program is designed to support young people with intensive coaching, training, and mentoring while creating opportunities for you to connect with employers in your local area.
Offering 6 weeks of intensive support through 2 x 3 week blocks of face-to-face training and support, the program will provide you with a full kit bag of job readiness tools to help you land the role you have had your eyes on.

Is EST right for me?
If you are aged between 15-24 years you may be eligible for FREE* Employability Skills Training (EST) as part of the Australian Government Youth Jobs PaTH initiative. You must be receiving Job Seeker payments and you will need reliable transport.

Aged over 25?
If you are aged over 25, then you may be eligible to complete the online training for EST as registered participant in then Online Employment Services (OES) program. You can self refer through the online participant portal! If you are 45 years and over, check out the Career Transition Assistance program.
What does the Block training involve?
Broken into two Blocks of training – Block 1 and Block 2, training is designed to give you the lifelong career building skills, including how to make sure your resume stands out, and how to write a killer cover letter.
Hone your job interview skills while benefiting from mentoring and support with your job search. Plus, get real work experience and a foot in the door with ‘Industry Awareness Experiences’ – building your confidence and understanding of what employers are looking for.

Block 1 courses are designed to equip participants with pre-employment skills and prepare them to meet the expectations of employers. Here are some of the standout modules for Block 1.
- Planning, organisation and goal setting, optimise how is your time spent. Explore what motivates you and why we procrastinate and get tips to manage
- Using ‘Stop, Start Carry on’ to change behaviours that may not be helping you
- Create and innovate around sustainability initiatives through the The Sustainability Project
- Communication, teamwork, connecting, working with others, how to improve engagement, types of communication, styles of communication and building communication at work
- 7 habits of highly effective people
Continuing on from Block 1, Block 2 training focuses on job preparation and is designed enhance job hunting skills, career development and interview skills.
Plus, participants can participate in Industry Awareness Experiences, providing real world work experiences in an industry of choice. This is where you can really gear up your job ready skills and tailor your approach to find the right role in the right industry with an inside knowledge of what employers are looking for.
